Aspiring to the Office of an Elder

Aspiring to the Office of an Elder

With this week's Sermon Podcast, Thaxter Dickey delivers an excellent sermon based on what is referred to as a "trustworthy statement". God's organization for the Lord's church is unfortunately often not adhered to and misunderstood. This sermon provides a thorough understanding and clear explanations of a very vital subject.

Elders and the Early Writings

Our podcast this week is a little different from most sermons because it includes a well documented history lesson. Have you ever wondered what happened to the organization of the church that we read about in the New Testament and why it's so different from most churches in the religious world today?
With this sermon from 2002, Phil Roberts shows how the apostasy innocently began and although certain Christians were willing to even forfeit their lives for their understanding, a careful inspection of God's word shows they were wrong.

The Church As The Family Of God

There are many ways in which God has chosen to describe the church. One of those ways is by comparing the church to our earthly families. With this podcast, Phil Roberts delivered a sermon years ago in 1998 that we recorded originally on cassette tape. Though the tape had deteriorated, we were able to salvage and amplify the audio.

Phil Roberts shows the wisdom of God as he explains the similarities between the church and our family along with various ways the church as well as our our families can be improved.
