Will You Keep Me Safe?

Will You Keep Me Safe?

The sermon this week because of the approaching dangers of bad weather is based on a question from a little boy to his parents as he asks, "Will you keep me safe?" This is a sermon previously unpublished by the late Phil Roberts. In this sermon, he, of course, talks about even more dangers and reasons for which we should consider keeping our children safe.

Love And Marriage - Volume 2

Love And Marriage - Volume 2

This week's sermon is actually the second in a series. Volume One was posted a few weeks ago under the title of, "What Is Marriage?" - that title is now secondary and has been renamed, "Love And Marriage - Volume 1". Please make a note of this so you can keep the series together. This week's Volume 2 begins with an in depth study of I. Corinthians 13. If you missed Volume 1, click here:

Church: Our Family Of God

Church: Our Family Of God

This sermon is presented by Thaxter Dickey and is the second sermon in a series. This sermon continues a study about the church. The church in a local sense is a spiritual family where members are close with each other and share with each other.

Building With God

Building With God

This sermon is a verse by verse explanation of Psalms 127 as explained by Gary Wilemon. This Psalm teaches us about the necessity of having God guiding us for everything we build. The scripture points out that working long hours are not always the best thing to do. This sermon also serves to remind us of the value of children. An excellent lesson for all of us!

Are You A Good Father?

Are You A Good Father?

What are God's expectations of fathers? Something I'm sure we would agree on is it doesn't have to be Father's Day for us to have a discussion about  the importance of being a good father. This sermon by Gary Wilemon helps us to see the mistakes of others in their roles as fathers and to learn from those mistakes.

Listen to the audio or watch the video that contains the presentation slides and see how you or your father measures up to God's expectations and even if you're doing well, we can always make the commitment to do even better.

Who Is My Neighbor?

Even if a sermon was preached years ago, the truth of God's word is still encouraging and applicable. This week's Podcast is a sermon by James R. Cope that was preserved for us by Kent Heaton of the Trenton Church of Christ. James R. Cope preached for Antioch for many years but was best known for his work with Florida College where he became president of the college. During his lifetime of service to others he preached in many different places all over the world.

This sermon was preached in Birmingham, Alabama in the year 1963. I'm thankful the recording has been preserved for all of us to hear. Listen and you will learn who your neighbor is.

The Perfect Father

Are you the perfect father or is your father the perfect father? Of course none of us are perfect but do you know of any examples that come close? This sermon from Phil Roberts that he preached eleven years ago gives us the example of the perfect father.

Honor Your Father And Mother

Do you always honor your parents? Do your children always honor you? Each one of us, of course, has heard this commandment all our lives and we would all agree it's a practice that's not only appropriate but a matter of common courtesy.

The thing that makes this podcast so important is the fact that so many people don't realize the far reaching effects of this simple command - even more, the far reaching detrimental effects that can threaten the very fabric of our nation when this command is ignored.

This podcast is without a doubt a "must hear" sermon!

The Church As The Family Of God

There are many ways in which God has chosen to describe the church. One of those ways is by comparing the church to our earthly families. With this podcast, Phil Roberts delivered a sermon years ago in 1998 that we recorded originally on cassette tape. Though the tape had deteriorated, we were able to salvage and amplify the audio.

Phil Roberts shows the wisdom of God as he explains the similarities between the church and our family along with various ways the church as well as our our families can be improved.

The Banished Son

In the Old Testament there's a comparatively little known story about unrestrained love and obsession that led to uncontrollable vengeance. This true story, that reads like a soap opera, evolves into a story of a father and his undying love for a rebellious son.

As you listen to this story and begin to touch base with such strong human feelings, you're amazed when the speaker reveals that it has a very understandable and compelling spiritual meaning.

Behavior That Grows Out Of Love

This week's podcast, though our 102nd in the past two years, is actually our first podcast with Google's podcasting service known as Blogger.

The sermon for this week is an excellent sermon by Thaxter Dickey from the year 1999 but the message he shares with us is needed even more today than back then.
