Neither Barren Nor Unfruitful

On the continent of Africa, in the small country of Zimbabwe, lives a quiet yet effective man of God. His ability to teach is demonstrated with this sermon covering II Peter, chapter one, verses one through eleven. His explanation of this passage written by the apostle will help each one of us to be neither barren nor unfruitful.

Who Is My Neighbor?

Even if a sermon was preached years ago, the truth of God's word is still encouraging and applicable. This week's Podcast is a sermon by James R. Cope that was preserved for us by Kent Heaton of the Trenton Church of Christ. James R. Cope preached for Antioch for many years but was best known for his work with Florida College where he became president of the college. During his lifetime of service to others he preached in many different places all over the world.

This sermon was preached in Birmingham, Alabama in the year 1963. I'm thankful the recording has been preserved for all of us to hear. Listen and you will learn who your neighbor is.

Why Esau Failed

We are all aware of the story of Jacob and Esau. We are disdained by the fact that Esau paid no regard to God and sold his valuable birthright for nothing more than food. Do you realize, however, that both you and I can just as easily fall prey to the same things that caused the downfall of Esau?

With this week's podcast, Phil Roberts points out Esau's failings and explains how to avoid them. You can listen from the website or right-click on the title and download to your iPod or mp3 player.

Work and Growth of the Church

Our Podcast continues with another sermon by the late Phil Roberts. With this sermon he reviews the work we were doing fifteen years ago at Antioch back in 1996. He then talks about what we should be doing and how those things can be applied at all congregations. Listen carefully to this sermon and make a commitment to help with the work of the church at the congregation where you attend.

The Book Of Romans - Volume 17

This is the final lesson in the series about the book of Romans by David McClister. It has been an excellent study! David McClister now preaches at the Palmetto Church of Christ in Palmetto, Fl. You can contact him there.

This concluding lesson reminds the Romans (as well as us) that they are not any better than the Jews. Neither they or us should ever fall victim to the sin of pride.
